The beach runs for a couple of hundred yards long and has beach chairs lining the shores. You can get umbrellas and cushions from the park to use on the chairs. The water in this area is shallow when there has not been too much rain. There are several deeper spots in the river but overall it looks to be about 4 to 5 feet deep in the middle. Again a lot depends on when the last rainfall took place.

The trees and logs in the middle of the river is a favorite place for the fish to congregate around.
Fly fishing or using a small spinner bait or tube jig may net some fish in this area.
A florescent greenish yellow color artificial bait is popular. Also a plain black jig is good.
As always shiners and worms work good under a bobber. you just have to allow for the current and stand up river and let your bobber float to the underwater trees.

Several volleyball courts to use plus a covered area and bathrooms. Drink machines are located at the entrance to the beach area in case you did not bring any with you. They are $1.50 for a 20oz drink.
